Vin Scully

Vin Scully called Los Angeles Dodgers games for 67 seasons, becoming the longest-tenured broadcaster with a single team in professional sports history and one of the most beloved voices in American sports. He was honored with the Ford C. Frick Award by the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982 and received the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2016.

A devoted Catholic, Scully was consistently active in charitable causes throughout his life, often donating his time to let charities auction off lunches with him to benefit causes he cared about, including support for people with Down syndrome. In 2016, he recorded an audio rosary, with proceeds benefiting Catholic Athletes for Christ, and in 2020 he donated much of his personal memorabilia collection to raise money for charity. A posthumous gift from his estate established the Sandra and Vin Scully Heart Rhythm Center at Providence Saint John's Health Center, extending his philanthropy beyond his lifetime.

Vin Scully passed away in August 2022 at age 94. Westcoast Sports Associates honored him with the Roy Firestone Award in 2011.
